Quality Cleaners Closes Its Doors

Sixty-one years after Quality Cleaners was founded, it announces that it will be closing its doors permanently, effective November 30th 2019.

Freda and Steve Lederer opened Quality Cleaners on September 20, 1958. They were the only employees and shared the small space with a donut shop. Over the next five decades, they grew their family business with pride, hard-work and integrity. Currently, Quality Cleaners employs approximately 35 employees and is housed in an 8,000-square-foot building. The business has served countless customers from weekly regulars to travelers passing through.

Freda’s son in law, Haim Blanc, owned and worked at Quality Cleaners for 40 years before retiring in 2018. Lee Colonna, Haim’s son in law, was the sole owner and manager of the business from 2018 until the present day.

There are a number of factors that led Lee to close Quality Cleaners’ doors. The most prominent ones, the country-wide decline in the dry cleaning industry and the opportunity to pursue a career which will enable him to spend more time with his wife and 4 children.

We want to thank our dedicated and talented employees and of course our loyal customers for all of your support.
